For as long as I can remember, people have entered every new year making "resolutions" just to fail to adhere to them mere days into the year. In all likelihood, this year will be no different. Scores of people will enter this new year uttering the phrase "new year, new me" and it'll in fact be a new year. However, it'll be the same you because if you were serious about changing your life, you wouldn't need New Year's to do it. You'll tell yourself, "this year will be different" and it very well might be but that depends on you. That depends on whether or not you decide to wake up every morning you get the privilege and remember the goals you've set for yourself. So, ask yourself this question, will you prove me right or will you prove me wrong? Only you can decide, Happy New Year's!

The Best YouTube Channels

That are countless YouTube channels in the world right now. Some with hundreds of millions of subscribers, and some with absolutely none. the implication is that those with the most subscribers are the best, but that's just not the case in my opinion. Two of the YouTube channels with the most subscribers on the platform are "MrBeast" and "Pewdiepie" whose channels focus on two completely different things. Collectively, they have about 250 million subscribers. However, just because they have some of the largest subscriber bases, doesn't mean they have the best channels. "Sometimes popularity is just a measure of how much people aren't thinking" (Ayishat Akanbi).

Now, I'm not saying Pewdiepie and MrBeast are making unentertaining videos. As a matter of fact, the fact that their channels have some of the most subscribers may implicate quite the opposite. What I am saying, is that the content some of these larger channels may make can lack the substance of other perhaps much smaller channels. "Aba & Preach" for example is a reaction channel that's much smaller than either of the previous 2 channels. But, the content they release is much more wholesome and nuanced. Watching Aba & Preach's content often teaches people something in an entertaining manner. Their channel also sometimes act as a medium of news media for people who've grow tired of the mainstream outlets.

Dear Apple, Please Bring Back The Studio 2’s

Apple is one of the largest conglomerates in the world. They have a strangle hold on the cellular manufacturing industry and have a great many other electronic products that dominate the market. Music is one of the greatest aspects of living in this world. I haven't met a human alive who is fond of it. So, when apple acquired "Beats By Dre" in 2014, I was very skeptical. Full disclosure, everyone knows large corporations are bad, but we believe Apple to be by far, the worst. We believe Apple does a great marketing inferior products that are engineered for obsolescence. That being said, when Apple acquired Beats, I was not happy. However, when they released the 1st few versions of the Beats studio headphones, I can't lie, I was impressed. The sound quality, and not to mention, the bass made them the hottest headphones on the market.

Memories Of Beats Before Apple

The original Beats Studio's were good, but the Studio 2's were immaculate. I still remember the 1st day I brought home my gloss white studio 2's. I had gotten them on sale for black Friday, I remember I couldn't afford to pay full price for them so I'd saved up all year for that one night, got to best buy thanksgiving night and got the last white pair. It was straight out of a fucking holiday story. I went straight home, unwrapped the plastic and didn't even bother to read the instructions. I plugged the aux cable into my headphones, watched the lights come on then plugged it in to my phone, turned the volume up all the way, then spent the next 4 hours laying in my bed listening to my entire playlist with no care for the outside world. That memory, I will cherish always.

Now

I say all that to say this, the Studio 3's do not make me feel that same rush. After my Studio 2's broke, I bought them a few years ago expecting an upgrade and I was woefully disappointed. The signature bass I had come to expect from the headphones weren't there, and the overall experience made me feel like I had bought a product that trying to be something it wasn't. As a loyal "Beats" customer, I do not want you to change the foundational principles of why I loved the product, I just want you to improve on what was already there, and these didn't do that. With that being said, "I beg and I plead, but today I am still just a bill". But seriously, please re-release the Studio 2's, my perception of music is just not the same without them. Peace!

Why I Stopped Tipping And You Should Too

Tipping has become a major topic of discussion this week and rightfully so. We're currently in a recession the likes of which many people haven't seen in their lifetimes. The idea that there's a social expectation that everyone pay extra to subsidize the wages of underpaid employees is asinine. The real issue is that their employers pay them shit and the concept of tipping is just a deflection from that reality. I stopped tipping partly because I started thinking about it this way and it bothered the fuck out of me. I'm also cheap as fuck, so it works out in my favor for that reason as well.

Tipping Should Be Unnecessary

Now, lets talk about the greedy business owners that think they can put the onus on customers to compensate their employees. I personally have worked in the bar/restaurant industry and I was probably never more unhappy in my life. You haven't truly felt like a slave until you've worked in that industry. People will literally talk down to you, make messes that you have to clean up with a smile on your face, and on top of that, you don't get paid well for it. I say that to highlight that I empathize with those workers. However, I also empathize with the paying customer. Customers shouldn't be expected to pay for overpriced food and beverages, then also be expected to pay extra.

Some of these places charge 13$ for a single craft beer; that's the same price as a 6 pack at a liquor store. Now you're probably saying, "If you can't afford it, then don't go out", my response: shut the fuck up. I like girls and girls like to go out and not pay for shit. But, if I'm paying 13 bucks for one drink, sorry bartender, I probably won't be tipping you. Maybe, you should ask your boss where all that expensive drink money's going! Peace!

Chappelle Is The G.O.A.T

Dave Chappelle is the undisputed greatest comedian of all time. All you fucking woke SJWs can suck it. Every one of Dave Chapelle's specials beginning with the "Age of Spin" to "The Closer" was fucking spectacular. His most spectacular special obviously being "sticks and stones"; the first one that drove all the outrage. Then he released "the closer" which is an epic closer to his Netflix contract. Chappelle is the greatest because he's un-cancelable. Nowadays, it seems like everyone can be canceled. While comedians like Kevin Hart have to go on apology tours for some joke they said in the past, Dave Chappelle is saying whatever the fuck he wants and they still can't cancel him.

It's even funnier because they've actually tried. They tried writing shitty reviews, giving his specials shitty ratings and slandering his name all over media, and all it did was make him even more famous. Dave has a unique talent of synthesizing the truth with comedic flare and storytelling that's unparalleled by any other comedian I've ever seen. That said, while my opinion on Dave's comedy is that of a fan, I think the opinions of his peers matter significantly more because they understand the intricacies of comedy on a level that I couldn't imagine.

Kevin Hart On Dave Chappelle

On Joe Rogan's podcast, Kevin Hart, a fellow comic said the exact same thing, Chappelle is the GOAT. He then went on to share a story about the moment he knew it. "Me and Chris Rock were going over lines and we had some descent material" he says, "then Dave walks in and asks if he can go up too". "he kills it, and in that moment, both me and Chris look at each other and crumple up all the material we'd worked on because it just wasn't up to par". The respect that emulated from his voice when Kevin said those words was powerful. Other comedians like Andrew Schultz and Joe Rogan have alluded to the same thing. No one can do it like Dave. Jeff Bezos is to most people, one of the most evil people in the world. He founded and still operates one of the most evil companies in the world. For years, the giving oath, which is a virtue signaling act that the billionaire class takes in the eyes of the public. The fact of the matter is that, these billionaires don't give a shit about anything or anyone but themselves. The pledge states that each member vows to donate the majority of their wealth to philanthropic ventures. This pledge is bullshit. For example, the pledge was founded by William Gates & Warren Buffett who have both pledged their wealth. However, typically when you donate money, the idea is that you donate it to a cause or organization that implements those funds on your behalf. With Buffett and Gates, they've been donating their wealth for years to the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation. Ask yourself, who sits on the board of the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation, Bill/Melinda Gates & Warren Buffett. So effectively, they've been giving their money to themselves for years.

The Bezos situation is even worse. For years, Bezos has rejected even signing that giving pledge for whatever reason he'd say publicly. But we all knew it was because Bezos didn't give a shit. To be fair, I don't necessarily think he has to give a shit. I think in order to achieve the levels of success they have, it requires a certain level dedication that results in massive loneliness. Furthermore, I think once they get to that level and the fake people start to migrate towards them, they should be fucking pissed. In that regard, I completely understand, I just have a problem with people being disingenuous.

Now, we all know there's an incoming recession. I imagine, as all bad things that happen in society, the people of the lower class will feel it the worst. I think people like Bezos are aware that when situations like this occur, those people who feel the repercussions of a failing economy will naturally turn their rage towards the wealthy. Also, I think it'll be particularly easier for people to turn that rage towards the ultra wealthy. Bezos is a smart man, this move is just a calculated move to garner favor publicly. He can say all the nonsense about finally feeling comfortable enough to give away his wealth, but its bullshit. We need to start thinking more clearly as a society and stop being played like pawns by these people. Peace!

Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin are two of the most brutal dictators in all of human history. Of the two, Hitler is by far the more recognizable name despite the fact that Stalin is responsible for 3-4 times the amount of genocide as Hitler, why? Could it be that the lives of those murdered by Hitler are considered more valuable than those taken by Stalin? Could it be that the U.S. wanted to erase all memory that it had dealings with Stalin prior to the cold war. Furthermore, it's even more perplexing that we never hear much of anything about Mao Zedong. He was responsible for more genocide than Hitler and Stalin combined so he deserves his own separate post.

Evil and selfishness are hallmarks of the human species. Although Kanye West has fallen from grace, he said something profound in his interview with Lex Fridman. He said, "history is written by the winners", he couldn't have been more spot on. With the exception of the Vietnam war, America has been the winner in all major global conflicts. As a result, America has been able to curate history favorably for itself. Also, Americans like to portray themselves as the world's moral compass (which couldn't be more hypocritical). The fact of the matter is, America and the Stalin led Soviet Union fought side by side during WWII and that must never be forgotten.

Since America likes to be perceived as virtuous, lets examine that. The Gulag in the soviet union was a forced labor system that was instituted during the reign of Joseph Stalin. Its was essentially a system of slavery that he justified using the communist ideology. The estimated 30 million deaths under Stalin came as a manifestation of the Gulag. Knowing all this information, the U.S. didn't hesitate to enter the war with him as an ally. This was a classic case of the U.S. abandoning morals for convenience which seems to happen often for a country that holds itself in such high esteem. Its Not A Problem Until It Happens To You

Everyone in the world is dealing with their own form of problem. Over the past few decades, as human beings, we have lost empathy for the fellow man. The shift has clearly come as a manifestation of social media becoming the primary medium of social interaction. It's essentially taken the emotion out of the world and we're seeing its implications in real time. A few weeks ago, I saw someone I knew asking for help. They were struggling and their mother was about to be evicted from her home. Their post was essentially a plea for help, she'd started a "GoFundMe" to help raise money for her mother.

I Didn't Know Until I Had A Problem

The truth is, I saw the post, looked at it for maybe 4 seconds and never thought about it again. I say that to say this, even though I wasn't in the position to help in any way, the idea that I could see another human suffering and feel nothing, is completely egregious. That was a completely horrible human reaction to have for someone going through a tough situation. I also say that because, not too long after that, I was/still am in a tough spot. However, for some reason I thought I could reach out for help and someone would be there. So, although I'd been so indifferent to another person situation, I was somehow expecting my case to be different. But, that's not how the world works, and I was being stupid for even thinking it did.

Although on some level I knew this already, I came to a profound realization that day. Most people (myself included) only give a fuck about bad situations that directly involve them. That is the harsh reality of the world we live in, and it's only been exacerbated by the presence of social media. Our society is spiraling downward fast and there seems to be no hope in sight. I'm not gonna say "start caring more about each other" because most of you would just keep going about your lives. I will say this, visualize yourself in bad situations and think about whether you have people there and whether you're there for other people. Peace!

Rippaverse, The Next Great Comic Book Universe

Rippaverse comics are the next big thing. With Marvel & DC zooming towards irrelevancy, a perfect opening has been created for new comics to dominate the space. For the past several years, fans have been fed up with the legacy comic book companies feeding them propagandist nonsense. Most fans have taken to social media to voice their frustrations and/or just stopped buying comics altogether. However, until now, there was no real alternative to them. About a year and a half ago, a comic book connoisseur named Eric July decided to change that reality. Little did he know, he was about to turn the comic book market on its head. Fear not comic fans, Rippaverse is here to save the day.

How DC & Marvel Gave Way To The Rippaverse

Rippaverse comics released their first graphic novel "ISOM #1" last summer to reach 100,000 dollars in sales. In just 24 hours, they 10x their goal and that release made over 1 million dollars. Fast forward to today, ISOM #1 has made over 3.5 million, shattering all projections Eric had. This sent shockwaves through the comic book world as no other comic book (Marvel and DC) in recent years has even come close to generating that kind of revenue. As a matter of fact, things have gotten so bad for Marvel and DC comics that their comic book distributors have stopped releasing their sales reports. Feeling threatened by the success of Eric's company, the other companies have begun attempting to smear his success.

Full disclosure, I haven't actually gotten the chance to give ISOM #1 a read myself because I don't have the disposable income to purchase one of the copies. "But they're only 35 bucks a copy", yeah, I know, I can't afford it. Your boy is out here struggling. However, from what I can infer from listening to Eric speak on his YouTube channel and his other interactions on various social media platforms, he knows what the market wants and isn't afraid to deliver it. I legitimately can't wait to read a comic whose only purpose is to entertain. So much of the last few years has been a cycle of shitty comic book leading to shitty live action adaptations which aren't generating the revenue to justify sequential projects, yet they're still releasing them.

Lastly, something we don't say enough as a society; thank you capitalism. Without you, we would be forced to consume poorly written, ideologically driven, misandrist propaganda. However, because of you, we have the opportunity to explore an entirely new universe of creative fiction that may one day be translated to live action. Rapists & False Accusers Should Get The Death Penalty

Rapists and false accusers are topics that have been making headlines recently. The problem is, the penalties for these offenses are not equal, and that's a serious issue. Let's break it down. Truth be told, rapists are the scum of the earth. Personally, I don't think they should be allowed to go to prison and continue to live. Conversely, I also think that those people who falsely accuse people of rape should also meet the same fate.

First of all, sexual assault is a heinous crime that should be punished severely. There's no question about it. The problem is, the penalties for sexual assault vary wildly depending on the jurisdiction and the severity of the offense. In some cases, perpetrators get off with a slap on the wrist, while in other cases, they are punished severely. That's not justice, that's a role of the dice.

Rapists vs False Accusations

Now, let's talk about false accusations. This is a tricky one because false accusations of sexual assault do happen. It's not something we like to talk about, but it's true. The problem is, the penalties for false accusations are often much less severe than the penalties for sexual assault. That's a big problem. If someone makes a false accusation, they are potentially ruining someone's life, and that should not be taken lightly.

The problem is, the justice system is set up in a way that makes it very difficult to punish false accusers. Although it's just as difficult to prove that the accused has actually committed a crime, it's also not easy to prove that someone made a false accusation, however, many false accusers get off scot-free while the accused get labeled as rapists. That's not justice, that's a failure of the justice system.

So, what's the solution? Well, it's not an easy one. We need to find a way to make the penalties for sexual assault and false accusations more equal. We need to make it clear that making a false accusation is just as bad as committing sexual assault. That's not an easy thing to do, but it's something we need to work towards.

In conclusion, the discrepancies between the penalties for sexual assault and false accusations are a serious issue that needs to be addressed. We need to find a way to make the penalties more equal and make it clear that false accusations are not something that should be taken lightly. It's not an easy problem to solve, but it's something we need to work towards if we want to create a more just and fair society.

Capitalism, socialism, communism, and fascism are the four economic systems that dominate civilization. Throughout history, humanity has witnessed the rise and fall of empires utilizing each economic system with the exception of capitalism. From Mussolini's rein in Fascist Italy to Mao's rein in communist China, and of course the Socialists in the Soviet Union. One after another these empires rose to power and one after the other, they fell miserably. With recent events, one has to wonder if we're officially witnessing the long awaited long-awaitedfall of capitalism. With that presupposition, it's only fair that we document the triumphs and failures of this system.

The United States has been heralded as the greatest empire ever created, with capitalism at its center. At its core, capitalism is centered around competition and the freedom of the market to innovate and create. However, like all the previous economic systems, it has one fatal flaw: people. Systems themselves are not inherently corrupt, it's the human beings that operate within those systems that allow them to devolve. In fact, people are simultaneously the most significant assets and flaws of the capitalist system. To think, capitalism gave us virtually every technological marvel we hold dear today. The Internet, computers, phones, cars, airplanes, and trains, are just a few of the unpredictable creations the capitalist system has brought us.

On the other hand, capitalism to this day has been the root cause of pain that's unimaginable to most people. For example, most people have no idea that all their technology is powered by cobalt-lined batteries gathered from the slavery of Congolese people. Not to mention the tumultuous history that this country has had with slavery and while slavery is not just unique to capitalism, it has supported the system in becoming what we know it as today. The lucky sperm club is a club that many of us are not apart of despite being very familiar with. Typically, they are entitled beneficiaries of the wealth and work derived from the competence of prior generations. It's widespread knowledge that most of the wealth in this world is acquired as a consequence of inheritance. For most people in this world, the "game" is over before they/we ever even get to play. Directly speaking, the lucky sperm club refers to people born to wealth. That said, I fully respect wealth that's earned through hard work and perseverance. However, wealth that's just passed down through generations is bad for society in various ways.

Lucky Sperm Club Entitlement

For one, it creates entitled, out of touch people. Secondly, it concentrates most of the wealth in the hands of the few which perpetuates inequality, and lastly, it disincentivizes people on both ends of the spectrum to self-improve. Firstly, lets talk about how it creates entitled, out of touch people. When you grow up with everything handed to you on a silver platter, it's easy to take things for granted. You become out of touch with real life because you don't know what it's like to struggle or to go without. You don't understand the value of hard work or the importance of empathy. Therefore, consequently, your worldview is warped into believing you're entitled to certain outcomes, which aren't the case.

Secondly, the presence of the lucky sperm club tends to perpetuate inequality because the wealth and capital that used to be in circulation, stops being in circulation because they spend just enough to sustain themselves, which results in less people being able to build wealth for themselves and their families. That said, its important to point out that none of us chooses our parents. So, its just inherent that members of the lucky sperm club are just that, lucky.

Lastly, the lucky sperm club disincentivizes human growth on both ends of the spectrum. This happens because, the lucky sperm kids have everything handed to them so they never have to develop the skills necessary to work, take Paris Hilton for example, I don't even know why she's famous other than the fact that she's heir to the Hilton hospitality business. Adversely, the people at the bottom view their efforts as futile because they won't ever achieve that level of wealth.

In conclusion, the lucky sperm club are a scourge to society. They're incredibly self-centered people whose worldview is predicated on whatever bubble of people they're surrounded by. Often times, they lack self awareness skills, they never develop into self sustaining adults, and they extract wealth from the actual hardworking people. Peace!

We met when I was 8 years old and you changed my life forever. The moment we met, I knew I was in love. From the 1st time I touched you, I knew I could spend the rest of my days and nights with you without giving it a second thought. You taught me many life lessons, from success to failure to the importance of hard work and perseverance. You were there through all my ups and downs and I thank you for all our memories. We traveled parts of the continent that I'd never imagined and you blessed me with experiences that'll last a lifetime. Basketball, you kept me off the streets of gang infested Chicago and for that I'm eternally grateful.

I take full responsibility for the turning point in our relationship. I allowed the distractions of the world to poison our relationship and for that, I'm truly sorry. If I had been mature enough to love you the way you loved me then perhaps we'd still be together today. But, life doesn't always give us the outcomes we desire. particularly when we're uncertain about what those outcomes are. The most painful moment of my life was when I finally understood that our relationship was coming to end. Today, the most fun I have is watching you bring others the same joy you brought me for so many years.

Basketball, you are the only thing I've ever been in love with. You taught me what the concept of love is. You taught me that love is something you don't have think too hard about, its something you just know. Love is something you can wake up and do every minute of every day and be enamored with in perpetuity. Today, at age 26, its crazy to say but I wish we had more time together. From the Jim Crow laws to the War on Drugs, legislative policies have often perpetuated injustices rather than rectifying them. As such, waiting for the government to come to your rescue is akin to waiting for a fox to guard the henhouse.

I have witnessed firsthand the struggles and injustices that average Americans face on a daily basis. From racism to economic inequality, the issues that plague our society require urgent action and change. Unfortunately, waiting for the government to come to your rescue is a bad idea, and here's why.

Secondly, the government is beholden to corporate interests and the wealthy elite, not the average American. The lobbyists and big-money donors who fund political campaigns have a significant influence on policy, often at the expense of the working class and marginalized communities. Waiting for the government to come to your rescue means waiting for corporations to prioritize your needs over their bottom line.

Thirdly, the government operates within a broken and corrupt system that values power and profit over people. This system perpetuates inequality, fosters division, and undermines democracy.
